Plans for annual meeting

Don't forget the annual meeting on Feb 4!  There will be three hours of supervision, and 3 hours of ethics.  I am still looking into the possiblity of doing the same program in Oxford on Feb 3.  Please let me know if there is any interest in this.  This would be a good way for us to work towards being a Gold Branch!

I am also about to send out the third message to consist of at least two things...Make plans to attend the conference now!

I'm sure everybody got the email, but, as a reminder, check out the APT YouTube Channel!

You know that APT is archiving the history of play therapy and APT in History Speaks on our free APT YouTube Channel.

Two new 15-minute interviews with prominent play therapists John Allan and Phyllis Booth who developed and popularized Jungian play therapy and Theraplay respectively have been added. Thank you, John and Phyllis, for your time and contributions!

History Speaks was proposed by the University Education Committee which also monitors our Approved Centers of Play Therapy Education program.

Slower than I thought!

Hello play therapists!

I am not sure how many of you know that I had surgery on November 9.  About 2 inches of my small intestine was removed.  I am fine, and the surgery went better than expected.  I, however, had high hopes of feeling much better than I actually did, and expected to be able to do oh, so many things during this time of healing, as I did not think I would need so much healing.

Little did I know.  This, however, is the reason that I never got back in a communication to include the cites for creativity that I got at the annual conference.  I am going to send out a communication today to include those, and also to inform you of AMHCA's new practice guidelines, and where to find those, and some other information from APT.

We are still in line for Gold Branch status, but we need to develop two 6 hour training sessions, one is scheduled for February 1, location still to be determined, and one needs to be established.  Anybody interested in hosting, suggesting topics or locations, please please let me know.

Thanks,
Lynn

Creativity!!!

Creativity is such an important aspect of what we do as Play Therapists!  Being creative takes intentionality and time when life is full and busy, but it is necessary time, and time well spent!

I challenge everybody to spend a little time this week opening their mind to creativity!

I'll be sending out an email later with some websites and suggestions that I got from Jodi Crane's presentation at APT.

If you aren't already a pinterest person, look into it....put pinterest in google....
